Tibetan Wildcrafted Goji Berries

Tibetan variety "Goji" berry (lycium barbarum elaegnus) is a small red sweet tasting berry still growing wild in ancient million year old soils in the remote Himalayan valleys of Tibet/Mongolia. These pristine valleys remain untouched by any pollutants, contaminates or pesticides. Many consider this berry the most nutrient-dense food on the planet. Our berries are wildcrafted, which means they are harvested from wild plants, not cultivated plants. Sustainable harvest practices insure that these ancient varieties and the pristine environments in which they grow are well protected . The by hand harvesting itself is under the auspices of the Tibetan Mongolian Coop . The Coop supports Tibetan culture under programs developed by the Dalai Lama's government in exile. These programs work to preserve Tibetan culture , Tibetan farmers, medicinal plant conservation and Tibetan medical research. Fair trade practices insure that these farmers are justly compensated for their efforts. Nutrient Profile Goji is packed with amino acids, vitamins A,C,and E, B vitamins, trace minerals, and phytonutrients. • Goji Contains 18 amino acids incuding all 8 essential amino acids. Flavonoids are extremely high in antioxidants . Bioflavonoids are essential to the absorption and utilization of other nutrients and especially vitamin C. •polysaccharides- large long chain sugar molecules which stimulate white blood cell (macrophage) activity. Macrophages, circulate throughout the body and engulf and digest foreign invaders(such as bacteria, yeast, fungus, toxins). They also play a pivotal role in coordinating the immune system's arsenal of defenses. •other Non essential nutrients include significant amounts of beta sistosterol, betain, physalin, solavertivone, and cyperone. Medicinal Use Goji is often used in Chinese/Tibetan medicine preparations. Modern chemical analysis and clinical study finds the Tibetan Goji berries to protect liver function, replenish vital essences, improve visual acuity, lower blood pressure and cholesterol, strengthen muscles and bones, burn fat, bring energy to the heart and works as an aid to treat diabetes and impotence. Antioxidant and life force of Goji The combined synergistic effect of the nutrients found in Goji berry make it one of the best anti-oxidant foods available. Antioxidants are rated in their ability to absorb oxygen free radicals as measured with an ORAC(Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) scale. This scale was developed by USDA researchers at Tufts University to rate antioxidant levels of fruits and vegetables. A 3000 unit reading is considered an industry standard for health. Goji reads at 25,300 ranking it as the best antioxidant food in the world.
